In return for all the great benefits you enjoy as a Lloyds Scholar, we ask that you do two things that will make a big difference to future students and your local community.
1. Volunteer in Your Local Community - We ask that you take part in at least 100 hours volunteering in your local community each year.
2. Champion the Programme to Future Applicants - As someone who's been through the process you'll be in a great position to offer help and advice.
DEVELOP YOUR SKILLS AND VOLUNTEER
Become a Lloyds Scholar and commit to completing at least 100 hours' volunteering in your local community each academic year.
This is a really rewarding experience and a great way to get involved in what's happening in your area, challenge yourself and gain the transferable skills so valued by employers.
Completing 100 hours may sound daunting, however it is achievable. Start early, make the most of the support available from your university’s volunteering team and be proactive with your time, especially early on in the academic year.
A DEDICATED MENTOR
Your mentor can provide general support and advice throughout your experience and give you a real insight into Lloyds Banking Group. This is particularly useful when selecting the workstream for your internship. The mentoring relationship gives you unique access to a member of our senior team and the opportunity to understand and experience different areas of our diverse business.
Our current Lloyds Scholars feel this relationship is an invaluable part of the programme and both Mentors and Scholars have found it to be very rewarding.
TWO PAID INTERNSHIPS
As a Lloyds Scholar you will be offered two ten week paid internships at Lloyds, for which you will receive a pro-rated salary of approximately £18,000. One of your internships must be taken during the summer holiday before your final year.
Internships are a great way to earn extra money during your summer holidays, providing invaluable work experience and direct exposure to the Group.
If you think you might be interested in joining our Lloyds Banking Group Graduate Leadership Programme (GLP) your second internship in particular is your chance to prove yourself to the business.
